According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 13:00, the center of the tropical depression was located over Guangxi province. The strongest wind speed was 61 km/h, Level 7, gusting to Level 9, and it was moving north-northeast at approximately 10 km/h.

In the next 12 hours, the tropical depression is forecast to continue moving northeast, gradually weakening into a low-pressure area and dissipating, posing no further direct threat to Vietnam.

Maysak was the first typhoon to operate in the East Sea (Biển Đông) in 2026. It formed from a tropical depression in the waters northwest of the Paracel Islands (Hoàng Sa) special zone and strengthened into a typhoon in the early morning of July 3, with an intensity of Level 8-9, gusting to Level 11. Subsequently, the typhoon moved slowly west-northwest then north-northwest, entering the northern Gulf of Tonkin (Vịnh Bắc Bộ) under favorable environmental conditions but did not intensify further, maintaining a maximum intensity of Level 9, gusting to Level 11.
